Almost everybody has an idea of the Hercules' Feats mythology. Many movies and books have been created to describe them. Now it's time to come and visit one of the most important places described in those Feats, Stimfalia's region and Kefalari village.

Although this is an unknown destination for most people, those who love the beauty of nature and the natural way of living are familiar with it. Kefalari village has been selected by the Naturalist Association many years ago in order to create a guest house for their members.

It is a historical place with 2000 residents. It is known since 1600 AD with the ancient name Dousia. It is situated at the foot of the mountain named Ziria or Kyllini. Stimfalia was the place where the ancient god Hermes was born.

The village took its name from the homonym historical source. A huge oak which is 150 years old, dominates the square of the village and shades the old church and Kefalari Pension.

A natural path that leads to an incredible forest starts at village square. Other paths for those who enjoy hiking, lead to the top of mountain Ziria, the ravine of Flampouritsa and the cavern of Hermes. Excursions to the mountain can be arranged though the old-road that connects Kefalari with Trikala village.
