Climbing in Corinthia: Sectors Frygani & Mylos

A new climbing spot between Athens & Leonidio!

Climbing in Frygani, Corinthia, Peloponnese

We are glad to announce the development of two new climbing sectors in the Northern Peloponnese!

48 densely bolted and thoroughly cleaned routes, with grades from 5a to 7b+, are waiting for you in the historic Corinthia region.

Frygani is a large limestone and conglomerate vertical wall, similar to the legendary Meteora cliffs but, in fact, the rock is significantly more solid and with features in abundance (pockets, holes and flakes). Another important difference: the bolting in Frygani is much denser!

In cooperation with more than 30 local businesses and under the supervision of Aris Theodoropoulos and his experienced team, we developed 48 climbing routes that are ideal for:

  • experienced as well as new climbers
  • year-round and all-day long climbing
  • starting or ending your Peloponnese climbing tour
  • technical, balancy and varied climbing
  • practicing good footwork technique

Located less than 2 hours drive from Athens, Patras or Nafplio, sectors Frygani and Mylos have already gained positive feedback from the climbing community and are totally worth your visit.

Project info

According to Mr. Aris Theodoropoulos’ climbing book (Greece: Sport climbing the best of 2017):

For the first time in the climbing history of Greece, so many local companies, professionals along with the municipality of Sikyon, have cooperated and crowdfunded such a climbing project. We should congratulate everybody that was involved, and especially Experience Corinthia and Mrs. Mina Papamitrou (arxontiko-kefalari.gr), who was the connective tissue and mobilizer of this initiative.

Mylos

Μύλος - Αριστερά

Μύλος - Δεξιά

Mylos is located almost opposite Frygani (2.5 km away, 5 minutes drive) over an old renovated watermill and has opposite orientation, ie shade in the morning. Only 10 routes have been opened yet, but the field is quite extensive and there are possibilities for too many more. Our plans are to open here several more routes of all levels, so even on warm days it will be possible to climb in the morning. Limestone is similar to Frygani, with fewer crocks.
